Before Plan Bee, Ma Khin Myo Thwe worked as a farmer to help support her husband and 3 children. The family relied on loans to sustain their farm. They were in a lot of debt.  Beekeeping gave them a sustainable income. 

“Beekeeping helped our family to double our income in just one year. Through Plan Bee, I gained knowledge on the benefits of pollination by bees on crops. Then, I realized that my entire family and village could benefit from beekeeping. My family members are farmers, and if a farmer has a crisis in agriculture, livestock such as bees can support our basic needs. I really thank and appreciate the knowledge I have gained from this project and how it has impacted my family. We work very hard but beekeeping gives us even greater results and income!”
