Emergency Medicine
Tag worked with the Azerbaijan Red Crescent (AzRC), in conjunction with Magen David Adom, Israel’s emergency medicine organization. We assisted with the provision of first aid training and equipment, as well as refurbishing first aid training centers.
We facilitated the refurbishment, equipping and training for a training room in the offices of the AzRC in Quba, and we funded the position of a training coordinator. We provided advanced first aid kits for the course graduates.
Tag assisted in the refurbishing and equipping a training room and the provision of a first aid training course in Ismayalli. In addition, we supplied experts in mass casualty events, emergency medical response and volunteer management.
We also sponsored an audiologist in a medical delegation organized by Eye from Zion to provide hearing aids to around 100 Azeri adults and children.
Community Resilience
Together with Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society (AzRC), we developed a project to enhanced community resilience in mine-affected areas. The wide-ranging project included developing safe play areas, helping frontline villages to upgrade first aid skills, delivering youth leadership training, and re-introducing traditional craft of carpet weaving.
We ran a training program ran by Azeri and Israeli professionals in first aid, health promotion and out-door training for local trainees. Graduates of the training travelled to six frontline villages in the region to bring health and resilience-building community tools to children, youth and adults.
We ran a football tournament for youth. Prior to the competition, the youth on all six teams received Emergency Medicine training. Tag provided uniforms, equipment, medals for all the participants and a trophy for the winning team.
We also distributed thousands of schoolbags and school supplies to children in frontline villages.
