“Before the program started my parents complained that I was always in bad company because I would get into trouble every day. Sometimes I stayed out late in the evening and was too tired to do my homework when I got home. My performance in class was very poor. After I joined Hoops for Kids, I spent most of my time playing basketball and learning life skills. Coach Nelson was very patient and made sure we understood what he taught us. The most valuable lesson I have learned is that no time is too late to change bad behavior. I now have good friends and am no longer in trouble with my teachers and parents.”
